Ce qui confère à “Tsukiji”, le titre de marché aux poissons le plus important du monde. Et bien loin des néons de Shinjuku, du quartier ultra moderne de Ginza et de la culture teenage-pop de Harajuku, un ballet journalier s’agite chaque matin dans ce hall gigantesque afin de provisionner les Tokyoïtes en denrées issues de la pêche. Dans ce style orange bariolé et inimitable qui encercle souvent les communautés d'obédience bouddhique. Les rides que je rencontre, burinées 365 jours par an et par tous les temps, m'apaisent. J'aimerais les toucher. Suivre ces sillons de mes doigts trop épargnés pour y lire comme en braille le relief des vies qu'elles sculptent. Et les faire miennes. Et me mouler à leur image. Ce dernier, dorénavant en retraite internationale, s’attache à soigner la réputation de ce sport auprès des instances sportives françaises et garde espoir que son art martial de prédilection devienne discipline sportive à part entière dans l’hexagone. Pour la commémoration des 50 ans de ce soulèvement des Tibétains, de nombreuses manifestations de soutien ont été organisées un peu partout dans le monde et notamment à Paris où plusieurs centaines de tibétains et de sympathisants de la cause tibétaine ont défilé non loin de l'ambassade de Chine, sous haute protection. Their work has clear lines and vibrant colors and is suffused throughout with a sense of proportion and harmony. This extends to their unique integration of the Scandinavian "hot" overlay technique with the Venetian "cold" techniques of battuto and inciso. Together, the wheel-engraved "beaten" surface of battuto, and the rectilinear indentations of inciso create a harmonious blend of colorful textures and elegant forms.
