Philip Baldwin is glassblowers who formed a creative partnership with his wife Monica Guggisberg over the past three decades. Their work has clear lines and vibrant colors and is suffused throughout with a sense of proportion and harmony. This extends to their unique integration of the Scandinavian "hot" overlay technique with the Venetian "cold" techniques of battuto and inciso.

Together, the wheel-engraved "beaten" surface of battuto, and the rectilinear indentations of inciso create a harmonious blend of colorful textures and elegant forms. Baldwin and Guggisberg’s pieces can be found in museums and private collections the world over.
